Our Editorial Principles
RogueCore Wiki is built on a foundation of transparency, accuracy, and player advocacy. Our editorial approach prioritizes evidence over speculation, clarity over complexity, and player needs over content volume.
We believe players deserve to know where information comes from, how reliable it is, and when it was last verified. Every page on our site reflects this commitment to source transparency.
Our Evidence Labeling System
We use a four-tier evidence system to clearly indicate the reliability and source of all information: (1) Official—confirmed by Ghost Ship Games through official channels such as patch notes, developer streams, or verified social media; (2) Wiki Partial—information verified by our editorial team but acknowledged as incomplete or potentially outdated; (3) Community-Tested—data verified through player testing, theory-crafting, and community consensus but not officially confirmed; (4) Tracking—unverified information from datamining, leaks, or early reports that we are monitoring for confirmation.
Each evidence tier is clearly labeled on relevant content, allowing readers to make informed decisions about how much weight to give specific information.
Source Requirements
All content published on RogueCore Wiki must meet minimum source standards. Weapon stats, upgrade values, and numerical data must be sourced from in-game testing or official documentation. Build guides and strategy content must be based on verified mechanics and tested approaches. Release dates and patch information must be linked to official announcements.
When sources conflict, we prioritize official developer communications, followed by in-game verification, then community consensus. Conflicts are noted explicitly so readers understand the uncertainty.
Verification and Update Process
Our content undergoes regular review cycles. Core database pages—such as weapons, upgrades, and resources—are reviewed after every major game patch. Guide content is reviewed monthly or when community reports suggest changes may be needed. Time-sensitive information—such as event details or patch notes—is verified at the time of publication.
Each page displays a 'Last Reviewed' date indicating when the content was last verified. Pages not reviewed within 90 days are flagged for editorial review.
Correction Policy
Errors are inevitable in a living game with frequent updates. When errors are identified—whether through community feedback, our own testing, or official corrections—we address them according to severity. Critical errors (incorrect stats, broken mechanics) are corrected within 24 hours. Factual errors (typos, incorrect names) are corrected within 72 hours. Clarifications and expansions are addressed during regular review cycles.
All significant corrections are documented in source notes, and major corrections may be noted at the top of affected pages.
Independence and Conflicts of Interest
RogueCore Wiki maintains complete editorial independence. We do not accept payment for coverage, preferential treatment, or early access in exchange for positive coverage. Our affiliate relationships—if any—are disclosed on relevant pages.
Sponsorships or partnerships, should they occur, will never influence our editorial judgments about game content, balance, or value.
